TRI Pointe Home Carolinas has named George Young vice president of land acquisition and division vice president.
A Raleigh native with more than 25 years of land-buying experience, Young brings asset acquisition, contract negotiation and project execution skills to the new TRI Pointe Homes division, which launched in October. Prior to joining TRI Pointe Homes Carolinas, Young served as vice president of land acquisition at M/I Homes of Raleigh.
“George has consistently delivered a robust land pipeline for a top-five builder in the market and now brings his strong experience and diverse, far-reaching network to our company,” said Gray Shell, division president of TRI Pointe Homes Carolinas. “As a major strategic differentiator, TRI Pointe Homes starts with people, builds strong local relationships and attracts experienced talent like George who will help us establish a powerful presence in a region boasting residential growth opportunities and affordability advantages.”
Holding a Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina State University and his North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License, Young will operate out of TRI Pointe Homes’ regional office in Raleigh. Locally, Young serves as a member of the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County.
TRI Pointe Homes Carolinas targets opportunities to develop well-located attached and detached housing communities for multiple market segments, ranging from entry-level townhomes to move-up single-family homes to age-qualified product in core markets.
“The growing divisional leadership team in the Carolinas has the advantage of leveraging TRI Pointe Group’s national resources and leadership while utilizing its strong regional expertise and, with the addition of George Young, now even more established local market connections,” said Tom Mitchell, president and chief operating officer of TRI Pointe Group.
