Jeffrey Mezger, chairman, president and CEO of KB Home (NYSE:KBH), rang the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday in celebration of the company's 60th anniversary.

Accompanying him was a team of long-tenured employees.

Founded in 1957, KB Home began as a local builder of entry-level homes in Detroit, Michigan and has grown to become one of the largest and most recognized home builders in the United States. Today, KB Home continues to focus on serving first-time home buyers, while also building homes for move-up and active-adult home buyers, across 36 markets in seven states.

Now headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the Company is quickly approaching the milestone of constructing its 600,000th home.
