HHHunt has named Ann Kelly as the organization’s new CEO, effective July 1, 2027. Kelly, the current chief financial officer, will replace current chairman and CEO Buck Hunt.

“I am honored to be entrusted with the CEO role and excited to continue building on a 60-year HHHunt legacy of values-driven success and innovation,” Kelly said.

Hunt, who has held the position of CEO at the No. 69 company on the 2026 Builder 100 list since 2013, will retain his role as chairman following the transition.

In addition to the change in CEO, Steve Brant, the current senior vice president of finance and treasury, will succeed Kelly as HHHunt’s CFO. Steve Fritz, chief operations officer, will serve alongside Kelly and Brant and the three individuals will comprise the HHHunt executive leadership team.

“Ann and I are aligned on what the future holds for HHHunt. She has a passion for pushing the company forward, challenging the status quo, and holding us accountable for the high standards we have always met,” Hunt said. “I have nothing but confidence in the new executive team’s leadership and they will have my full support in leading HHHunt forward.”

Kelly joined the organization in 2001 and spent her first 10 years as controller for HHHunt Homes. She then served as the vice president of finance and accounting and senior vice president of finance and risk management before being named CFO in 2019. In the CFO role, she has led corporate finance and accounting functions across all HHHunt business lines.

In the role of chairman, Hunt will continue to guide the long-term strategy for HHHunt and turn his focus to leading a new hospitality venture for the company. Hunt has followed in the footsteps of his father and HHHunt founder Harry H. Hunt III, learning the business firsthand and guiding it as CEO for the past 13 years.

Brant joined HHHunt in 2006 as a controller for HHHunt Communities before being promoted to vice president of finance and accounting in 2013 and has served as senior vice president of finance and treasury since 2019.

Fritz has served as the chief operations officer for HHHunt since 2019. He joined the organization in 2015 as the general manager of HHHunt Homes of Raleigh and was promoted to the role of president of HHHunt Homes in 2017.

Glen Allen, Virginia-based HHHunt serves the southeast across three divisions, HHHunt Abberly Apartments, HHHunt Communities, and HHHunt Homes. The company develops, builds, owns, and manages properties across Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The company closed 923 single-family homes in 2025 and generated $290 million in revenue.
