Art by an architect

Starting today, AIA/L.A. will be hosting an exhibit on the artwork of Kenton Zlab, AIA. I checked out Zlab’s website and instantly became a fan of his abstract collage constructions. He uses colored, reclaimed wood to make pieces that showcase the material’s inherent patterns and geometries, creating complex-looking wood mosaics out of very simple, humble items. The show will take place Jan. 3 through Jan. 28th at the AIA/L.A. chapter gallery.
