John Conyers (D-Mich.) recently introduced a bill to the House that would develop standards for preventing, detecting, and treating mold. The proposed legislation also includes a national toxic mold hazard insurance program. But builders shouldn't celebrate just yet. The consumer-friendly bill offers builders no liability protection for past or future mold claims, according to the NAHB.
