Modern Modular

1 MIN READ

By BUILDER Magazine Staff It had to happen sooner or later: a high-tech modular home for pampered baby boomers. Genesis Homes, a nationwide modular home manufacturer, unveiled its 2,595-square-foot Bainbridge at the International Builders’ Show in Atlanta last month. The home, which aims squarely at the boomer trade-up market, includes a flexible floor plan, a state-of-the-art home theater, and electronic control of lighting, HVAC, security, and Internet-enabled home appliances. To prevent all that technology from making the occupants sedentary, it also sports a personal fitness center. Cost of the above is about $200,000, not including the electronics.
