The International Well Building Institute (IWBI) has recently awarded 185 homes in Jubilee a WELL Residence certification. The 1,622-acre community by Johnson Development is the first in Texas to have homes receive the certification.

Signifying they have met a global standard for healthier, more resilient homes, the 185 residences represent 478,493 square feet of development and is the second group of Jubilee homes to receive WELL certification, with 125 homes earning the designation last year.

“We’re always excited about these certifications because they provide third-party recognition that we are actually building a community that truly prioritizes wellness and isn’t simply a marketing pitch,” said Nick Deacon, Jubilee Development manager. “Having the respected independent IWBI validate our efforts makes the achievement that much more meaningful.”

Up from the minimum 40 criteria used to certify homes last year, the homes met 45 criteria to earn their certifications. Categories considered span from air and water quality to light, sound, and thermal comfort.

Deacon added, “It’s encouraging to see us continuing to build on what we learned from our first submission.” Another 215 homes have been submitted for certification with the goal to have all homes in Jubilee earn the WELL Residence seal.

Jubilee was the first Texas community to become an early adopter of IWBI’s WELL for residential program in 2023. Today, 4,470 units around the world representing 6,820,597 square feet have received a WELL Residence certification, according to IBWI. Johnson Development was one of 25 early adopters across 10 countries.

Every home in Jubilee is built with a variety of wellness features, including a reverse-osmosis filtration system at the kitchen sink; a fresh-air intake and a MERV 13 media filter; circadian rhythm lighting for the family room, kitchen, and primary bedroom; and a central automation system.

“Your home—your community—should be your sanctuary,” Deacon said. “Jubilee is designed to be just that, a place where you can rejuvenate, relax, and take comfort.”

Builders include Beazer Homes, Chesmar, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, J. Patrick Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Tri Pointe Homes, and Westin Homes.
