Nadia Subaran, co-owner of Aidan Design, works in swank Washington, D.C. neighborhoods and suburbs. She notes that even high-end clients are more often capitalizing on existing space and focusing budgets on the best appliances, finishes, and storage solutions rather than adding indiscriminate square footage.
