New upgrades to Honeywell’s Tuxedo Touch home security and automation controller will allow homeowners to use voice commands to execute a range of tasks, the company announced last week. Through the voice-command technology, users can audibly cue the controller to arm the security system, lock doors, and adjust thermostats or lights. Other new features include the ability to record security camera video, remote-upgradeable software, and support for higher-resolution cameras that use H.264 and ONVIF protocol.
The Tuxedo Touch is part of Honeywell’s VISTA series of home and building control solutions and can serve as the hub for a connected home or business. The product can also be integrated with Honeywell’s Total Connect Remote Services to permit access from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Tuxedo Touch features a 7-inch full-color touchscreen and includes capabilities such as viewing local weather information and displaying messages for other household members.
