ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is rebooting and recruiting Taylor Morrison as the exclusive home builder for the series. Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit will host the show.
"In all the wonderful seasons of the ‘Extreme Makeover’ franchise the show has never had an exclusive home builder partner, which makes us incredibly proud to bring a new experience to the beloved formula," says Taylor Morrison chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer. "This will be a season unlike any other as we deliver so much more than beautiful new homes for deserving families, and I can't wait for our communities and viewers at home to witness the magic unfold."
The news follows the filming of a pilot episode in Taylor Morrison’s Emory Crossing community in Hutto, Texas, in September. The rest of the season, which will showcase heartwarming stories and impressive builds, will be filmed this fall.
"Filming the pilot episode with Taylor Morrison as our builder partner made for such a wonderful experience for everyone, from the deserving family we supported, to production, to volunteers, that we knew we wouldn't want to embark on this journey with any other home builder," says Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit. "We are simply elated to build upon The Home Edit and Taylor Morrison's partnership and can't wait to finish what we've started as the rest of the series begins."
At the close of each episode, the families will be welcomed into homes built by Taylor Morrison that are finished with organized spaces complimentary of The Home Edit.
"Supporting local communities is so core to who we are that we could not be prouder to be the exclusive home builder of such an iconic series and introduce more people to the heart and soul of Taylor Morrison," says Taylor Morrison chief marketing and communications officer Stephanie McCarty. "The inviting communities we build, the thoughtfulness of our home designs, and our hearts set on our customers' experience make living in our homes something uniquely special."
The home builder has an existing partnership with The Home Edit, which is a part of Hello Sunshine, a division of Candle Media. It began last summer when Taylor Morrison and the home organization company teamed up to reduce the stress known for accompanying a move.
Curated organization tips focused around a move are featured in the New Home, New Zones video series, and extensions of the partnership are underway to bring The Home Edit's organizational products and services directly into Taylor Morrison homes.
