As many Californians face destroyed homes and communities, the home building industry and others are looking for ways to lend support.

“Working in home building, I’ve seen firsthand just how important community, and the many comforts of home can be. The idea of losing one’s sanctuary and being left with next to nothing is unimaginable, yet it’s a sad reality many Californians are facing right now. The devastation ravaged by wildfires across the greater Los Angeles area has been heartbreaking to watch. Having spent much of my childhood living in West Los Angeles—even attending high school in the Pacific Palisades—it’s surreal to see these once thriving communities turned to ash,” said Taylor Morrison CEO Sheryl Palmer in a LinkedIn post.

To aid in eventual rebuilding efforts and assist in urgent needs, here are five ways to help today.

  1. HomeAid and the California Building Industry Association (CBIA) have partnered and HomeAid has opened its LA Wildfire Relief Fund 2025 to support the long-term rebuilding efforts of homes in the community. CBIA encourages those looking to support the recovery effort to donate to the LA Wildfire Relief Fund 2025 by either visiting their website or by texting LAwildfires2025 to 41444. Taylor Morrison is matching all donations dollar for dollar.
  2. The United Way of Greater Los Angeles has established its Wildfire Response Fund. This fund will address urgent, ongoing needs, which include support for low-income individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and disruptions to community organizations and small businesses.
  3. The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation (LAFD) provides vital equipment and funds critical programs to help the LAFD save lives and protect communities. The foundation has issued an emergency alert for donations to purchase critically needed supplies and equipment for firefighters fighting the wildfire. Learn more and donate.
  4. The California Fire Foundation is working with local fire agencies and community-based organizations to provide direct financial support to impacted residents as details of the damage emerge. The California Fire Foundation also provides critical support to surviving families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they serve. For those interested in supporting, the foundation is accepting donations.
  5. For those interested in supporting long-term rebuilding efforts, the California Community Foundation has activated its Wildfire Recovery Fund. The fund is focused primarily addressing the long-term recovery needs of neighborhoods long after media attention has shifted away.

Other national disaster response organizations—such as American Red Cross and the veteran-led disaster response nonprofit Team Rubicon—are also accepting donations to support their life-saving response efforts to all those affected by the wildfires.
