Project Description
One Museum Place is a collection of forty-four custom residences located at the enviable Atlanta address, 1301 Peachtree Street. The site is directly east, across Peachtree Street from the High Museum of Art designed by architect Richard Meier and expanded by architect Renzo Piano. The forty-four homes are grouped into two buildings that form a gracious automobile court. At the east extent of the site, the homes face onto Ansley Park, a verdant Olmstead planned residential neighborhood. One Museum Place is of reciprocal scale, texture, and fortitude with the museum buildings and the Peachtree Street context. The massing of the two buildings expresses individual homes with their generous outdoor rooms or lanais and canopy shaded roof terraces. The rich material palette of the facades collects the individual homes into a cohesive community. Windows and glazed doors, present views of the city, Ansley Park, and the High Museum, while providing natural light and ventilation. Unique to multi-family housing in Atlanta, the lanais are generous outdoor living rooms with grills, wet bars, and pleasant living spaces. Residences range from one to three bedrooms, and from 1,256 to 4,844 square feet. Each is accessed by an elevator opening directly into the foyer of each home. Each interior is custom designed by JW Collection to meet the preferences of each homeowner. Individualized garages are provided to each homeowner while the site connects directly to Atlanta's rapid transit system via a pleasant walk across the High Museum piazza. The scope of the architect's work includes site planning, core and shell, lanais, roof terraces, garages, entry lobbies and landscape design.
