The annual Architectural Digest Home Design Show kicked off in New York City yesterday and the excitement at the show was palpable, especially when you consider the relative state of the economy.
While smaller in scale than some other industry events, the AD show is emerging as the go-to place for the latest in appliances. While most large appliance companies have pulled out of the national Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, the AD show features more than 10 national brands this year. "Welcome to the largest appliance show in America," quipped a Jenn-Air representative to a group of reporters.
Sponsored by Architectural Digest and The New York Times, the show features exhibits from nearly 400 premium brands and is geared toward architects, interior designers, contractors, and consumers.
The show features high-end and luxury products from a variety of categories, including hardware, flooring, architectural lighting, appliances, tile, and plumbing, among many others.
Here are 10 that we saw on Day 1.
