Taking jobsite dust containment beyond clear plastic sheeting, ZipWall's new ZipFast Reusable Barrier Panels let contractors contain dust in construction areas while hiding unfinished spaces from view. Builders can also consider using the panels to erect a makeshift office inside a home under construction, rather than moving back and forth from a jobsite trailer, or to wall off and protect completed areas from trades coming in later in construction.
Made of opaque nylon, the panels can be washed and reused, eliminating the expense and waste of single-use plastic sheeting. At $260 for a four-panel kit and carrying case, ZipWall says ZipFast panels pay for themselves within 10 uses. The kit includes three 5-foot panels and one 2 1/2-foot panel that serves as an entryway. Individual panels are also available to expand the kit, and users can opt for a Class A flame-retardant version.
The ZipWall system was originally created to aid in dust containment on construction, remediation, abatement, and painting jobsites. Its efficacy has been further proven by use in hospitals as anteroom set-ups for infectious disease containment. On the jobsite, ZipWall and ZipFast panels are easily erected by one person with no tape or ladders required. The system uses twist-locking poles that attach to a tight-fitting head plate.
