Milwaukee Tool’s new M18™ Short Throw Press Tool w/PEX Crimp Jaws is optimized for residential PEX installations, with a capacity of up to 1” of PEX pipe.
The tool features a press time 40% faster than competing press tools and a three-second cycle time, with no calibration intervals required. It can perform up to 400 one-inch press connections on a single charge, and its lightweight design allows its users to press with one hand. These functions allow the M18 Short Throw Press Tool to accomplish most modern residential installations, which in turn can lower housing costs and increase jobsite productivity.
“The residential space has largely turned toward PEX tubing due to its cost, speed of installation, and lack of corrosion versus copper. Today, in order to join many PEX fitting systems, users have pressed manually with large, cumbersome hand tools, or invested in hydraulic press tools designed to press metals,” says Alex Boll, Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool.
The PEX Crimp Jaws’ spring loaded design allows the tool to hold rings for precise alignment during fitting, and offers consistency in installation over the lifetime of the tool. A built-in pre-press battery check prevents the tool from starting a press that it cannot complete.
The M18™ Short Throw Press Tool comes with three PEX Crimp Jaws in half-inch, three-quarter-inch, and one-inch sizes, along with two M18™ REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 battery packs, a multi-voltage charger, and a carrying case. www.milwaukeetool.com
