The Home Depot says it will expand its reach to contractors with the acquisition of Costa Mesa, Calif.-based White Cap Construction Supply, a privately held specialty hardware, hand tools, and safety equipment distributor with annual sales around $500 million. The deal should close in the next 30 days. The Home Depot hopes this move will broaden its Supply Division, which caters to builders.
