The Home Depot once again honored innovative products and brands, highlighting advanced light switch technology, cleaning solutions, and surface-temperature-reducing exterior paint with its annual Innovation Awards.
“Our pipeline of product innovation is stronger in every category thanks to our outstanding suppliers,” Billy Bastek, executive vice president of merchandising at The Home Depot, said. “We’re thrilled with this year’s winners and their commitment to providing our DIY and pro customers with first access to the newest and most compelling products to help them improve their homes.”
Decora Edge by Leviton was the overall winner for 2023. The Home Depot noted the product makes installing light switches and outlets faster, more efficient, and safer through color-coded levers and audible clicks during installation.
Ecolab Scientific Clean Line was named first runner-up. Bath cleaners, degreasers, floor care, and pressure wash cleaners in the Scientific Clean Line of products are backed by a team of 1,200 scientists and technical specialists, according to The Home Depot.
Glidden Cool Touch Exterior Floor Paint was second runner-up. The manufacturer says the product reduces surface temperature by up to 20% compared with products of a similar color. Available in a tintable stain or paint, Glidden Cool Touch can be applied to exterior porches, patios, pool decks, and walkways.
The Home Depot also recognized finalists for their high marks in product innovation, including:
- Husky Rechargeable Flashlights;
- KAP-IT Sprinkler Riser;
- Kohler Extra Tall Toilet;
- Makita XGT 40V power tools;
- Ridgid Flexshaft;
- Ryobi 80V Zero Turn Riding Mower and Riding Lawn Tractor; and
- Traffic Master Sheet Vinyl
In addition, The Home Depot honored Clorox/Glad as environmental partner of the year, Evolutions Flooring as interconnected partner of the year, Behr as marketing innovation partner of the year, and Pure Beauty Farms as supplier diversity partner of the year.
