The problem with typical ceramic floors is that sub-floor, underlayment, and tile surface move as one unit, making them prone to cracks. Ditra-XL uncoupling membrane neutralizes the differential movement between the substrate and tile and helps eliminate the problem. It provides waterproofing and vapor management, and its thickness allows for even transitions between tile and 3/4-inch-thick wood floors.
