A big draw for builders at every IBS is the exhibit floor, which houses about a thousand booths and far more products, all geared to help build and sell homes better and faster. While we can’t walk the floor just yet, we did take a virtual tour of the exhibitors listed at www.buildersshow.com and came up with a few gems:
Ecolite Concrete USA (Booth C4579): The company’s lightweight engineered wall panel system combines cold-formed steel studs (pictured at top) and proprietary concrete. In addition to the time-saving benefits of panelization, the system qualifies for green building credits, including LEED.

RM Design Studio (Booth S13243): These guys do renderings really well; in fact, they might fool your own marketing staff. RM Design’s high-definition, computer-generated renderings and animations for exteriors and interiors, such as those created for The New American Home 2009, can be an effective tool while you build models and presell homes.
A.E.R.T. Inc. (Booth N851): Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies is reintroducing its MoistureShield Juniper Collection, an organic cedar composite decking line made with 90 percent pre- and post-consumer recycled content, including organic cedar fibers and polyethylene plastic.
Ask the Experts—Residential Efficiency Programs (Booth N1373): Here’s your chance to tap the big brains from DOE, HUD, EPA, and PATH regarding the development and use of technologies that promise to improve housing durability, efficiency, environmental performance, and affordability.
