Modern design aesthetics mark a strong common thread in the market's newest bath and kitchen faucets and fixtures. Clean lines, minimalist silhouettes, and floating installations are pairing with a bevy of high-tech features. Here are just a few examples of the industry's design and tech offerings, including touchless faucets, high-tech toilets, and innovative tub apron storage.


The Urban Bath Apron Storage system incorporates a 3.5-inch-deep by 36-inch-long stainless steel shelf into the body of the tub, designed to store bath essentials out of sight behind the tub apron’s panel until needed. The system’s panel opens smoothly with hydraulic arms and closes securely with a magnet. The stainless steel tray is easy to remove for cleaning purposes.

Sonoma Forge

The Strap lavatory faucet series, originally available in a split Satin Black and Satin Nickel finish, is now available in a series of mono-color and -chrome finishes. The fixtures’ spout and handles are designed to resemble cylinders in U-bolt fasteners, combining a curved top with solid bases. The series includes deck-mount and wall-mount widespread faucets, tub fillers, concealed shower systems, and matching accessories. Both faucets can be adapted into hands-free models.


The SensoWash Starck f personal hygiene toilet, Duravit USA’s latest collaboration with designer Philippe Starck, is named for its flat silhouette and design ethos when paired with matching ME by Starck ceramics. It is available in wall- or floor-mount configurations, both incorporating Duravit’s HygieneGlaze, designed to kill 90% of bacteria within six hours of contact. Features include an automatic lid, heated seat, adjustable water temperature, hot air dryer, and custom personal hygiene settings programmable via remote control or smartphone app.

The Serie 260 line of bath faucets, bidets, and shower and tub fixtures is defined by soft, graceful curves and flat spout heads. All pieces are constructed from solid brass, and are available in four finishes: chrome, brushed nickel, polished nickel, and matte black. The faucets are available in single-hole or widespread configurations, each with handles that contribute to the fixture’s minimalist appearance.


ICERA’s four new wall-hung toilet designs—Lily, Vista, Baxter, and Karo—are built with an eye toward trends in small-space living, sustainability, and minimalist interior design. Each one is dual-flush compatible, includes a silent-close seat with a quick release hinge, and features an average water consumption rate of 1.28 gallons per flush. The fully concealed mounting system may be installed at a standard or ADA height, and all models are compatible with most major in-wall carriers.


The Rainshower 310 SmartConnect allows users to switch between spray modes at the press of a button on the included wireless remote control. The showerhead itself is WaterSense certified, and features a modern, minimalist design aesthetic, available in either a round or square shape to complement the overall bathroom style. Using the remote, users can switch between a rain shower spray and a jet spray, or apply both at once.

American Standard

The Avery and Beale kitchen faucets are now available with American Standard’s Selectronic touchless faucet technology in select models. Users can turn the faucet on and off by waving a hand in front of the sensor at the top of the spout, or switch to manual mode by moving a sliding sensor door when needed. The faucets are available in a stainless steel or polished chrome finish, and are ADA compliant and CALGreen certified.


A selection of Waterstone’s faucet designs are now available in a choice of two-tone finishes. Customers can select from manufacturer-curated primary and accent finish sets, some made to match select high-end kitchen range and oven brands, or custom combinations of chrome, classic bronze, matte black, polished nickel, satin nickel, stainless steel, and satin brass. Eligible faucets include Bridge faucets, Endeavor faucets (shown), Gantry pull-down faucets, and standard pull-down faucets.

Bio Bidet

The Prodigy 770 Smart Toilet is designed to make a smart toilet experience accessible to a wider range of customers at a lower price. The tankless console connects directly to the home’s water supply features an automatic, motion activated lid, smart dual flush, and integrated self-cleaning bidet. Users can adjust the water, seat, or dryer temperature with a wall-mounted remote control, as well as the nozzle position and water pressure. The area of the Prodigy’s seat is also 20% larger for increased user comfort.
