Samsung expanded its portfolio of connected appliances with a series of new product launches at the 2020 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, including a new line of premium slide-in ranges, a side-by-side Family Hub refrigerator configuration, and the AirDresser clothing care module.

The slide-in range series provides the look of a built-in appliance with an easier installation process, with a choice of gas, electric, induction, or dual fuel configurations and classic, black, or new Tuscan stainless steel finishes. All range models are equipped with “intelligent controls”, which learn users’ cooking preferences and habits in order to suggest commonly-used settings when the appliance is in use. Users can monitor and control the range via the SmartThings smart app, or send cooking modes for certain recipes directly to the appliance.

The Family Hub side-by-side refrigerator is available in a stainless or black stainless finish, with a fingerprint-resistant coating, and features flat doors, recessed handles, and a minimal dispenser. The redesigned interior features a larger capacity than previous models, with vents throughout to keep contents evenly cooled. The Family Hub interface enables the Family Board, a digital bulletin board, View Inside, which allows users to look inside their fridge from a separate smart device, and Smart View, a seamless mirroring tool for a phone or TV.

In a process similar to dry cleaning, the AirDresser uses a steam cycle to smooth wrinkles, remove odor, and sanitize clothes in under 48 minutes. Users can place the AirDresser anywhere in the home, as it does not require a water line, and monitor, control, and receive alerts from the device through the SmartThings app.

“Technology and innovation are in our DNA at Samsung. We listen carefully to the things that consumers tell us they want for their modern, connected homes,” says John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics America. “As we designed these new products, we considered every single detail—from color to user experience—in order to ensure we’re offering families innovations that make their daily lives more convenient, more efficient, and more meaningful.” samsung.com
