When you need household essentials in a hurry—toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent—Amazon is often the first place you turn. Now, siding, trim, and structural accessories from LP Building Solutions are just as accessible.

The building materials manufacturer first launched its Amazon storefront in 2023, offering LP Structural Solutions accessories such as subfloor adhesive, polyurethane foam cleaner, seam and flashing tape, and seam and flashing sealant.

“At LP, anything we do is with the customer in mind. Amazon allows our consumers, specifically construction professionals, to build better by creating an accessible and convenient purchasing option that gets them on the job site faster,” senior corporate brand manager Casey Smyth tells BUILDER. “We also value the opportunity for customers to leave reviews, ask questions, and learn more about our products and mission.”

In May 2025, LP expanded its Amazon storefront to include siding and trim accessories, including J-Blocks and Mini-Splits.

“We decided to expand after hearing positive feedback from customers who used the storefront to purchase Structural Solutions accessories,” says LP product manager Annina Ott. “Construction professionals appreciate the ease-of-ordering and quick shipping for accessories so they can keep going on their builds and not have major delays.”

E-commerce Trends Among Pros

In the post-COVID environment, data from Zonda indicates contractors increased turned to e-commerce and direct-from-manufacturer channels for purchasing.

In 2023—the same year LP launched its Amazon storefront—Zonda analysts Todd Tomalak and Matt Samson noted e-commerce channels captured the largest share of pro contractor spending relative to other channels. This shift appears to be lasting: a recent LinkedIn post from Tomalak highlights continued growth in manufacturer-direct and online purchases for pro contractions, and the ongoing disruption these spending patterns may bring to traditional building material channels.

For its part, LP sees its expanded Amazon storefront as a key strategic decision to improve convenience and accessibility for customers.

“By leveraging Amazon’s platform, we are expanding availability and ensuring that customers can easily find the trusted products they need to complete their exterior projects,” says LP president Jason Ringblom.

Since the storefront launched, Smyth says customer engagement has met expectations—and LP anticipates growing adoption as builders look for more efficient ways to work.

“LP has seen LP Structural Solutions accessories being ordered and used at levels consistent with what we expected,” Smyth says. “Having LP accessories available on Amazon helps fill gaps as opposed to completely restructuring traditional purchasing habits.”

Ott adds that when customers order through Amazon, the two-day shipping times for accessories are quicker than purchasing through a distribution partner.

“LP is continuously looking to improve our product offering based on the needs of our customers and how we best service them,” Ott says. “We are evaluating what other product additions would be appropriate to include on Amazon.”
