Deckorators’ mineral-based composite decking lines have been approved for use as exterior cladding, including the Voyage, Vault, and Frontier lines, as well as picture frame boards.
Each line offers unique color, variegation, and texture options, and all include a stain- and fade-resistant polypropylene cap stock, as well as 50-year structural, 25-year stain-and-fade, and 25-year removal-and-replacement warranties.
The boards’ MBC formulations, composed of a mix of polypropylene and calcium carbonate, are nearly 35% lighter than traditional composites, are similar in weight to PVC, and allow for virtually no thermal expansion or contraction. In the manufacturer’s Eovations process, the blend is extruded and stretched, creating air pockets in the board’s fiber-like structure to keep the board lightweight.
“Our MBC decking has gained a loyal following in the deck contractor community, and we’re excited to announce the approval of a cladding application,” says Chris Camfferman, managing director of marketing for Deckorators. “Now builders can get the style, unmatched structural integrity and superior warranty of MBC decking for even the toughest exterior applications.”
Dimensions approved for cladding use include 3 ½-, 5 ½-, and 7 ½-inch widths and 12-, 16-, and 20-foot lengths. Stowaway hidden fasteners and Starborn Pro Plugs are among the approved mounting solutions. deckorators.com
