CAMO’s newest desk fastener, the EDGEXMETAL Clip, is designed to fasten any grooved deck boards directly to metal substructures. The one-pass fasteners use the same technology as the EDGEX clips for wood framing, with the screw as a key difference; the EDGEXMETAL uses a drill point screw that engages in less than two seconds, while the EDGEX uses a self-tapping screw.

“Our CAMO innovation team tackles many issues faced by deck builders,” said W. Scott Baker, CEO, National Nail. “EDGEXMETAL Clips are a direct response to slow, expensive hidden fasteners for decks built on metal framing, as well as wood’s rising prices. The clips are also launching at a time when contractors are exploring steel and metal framing options given the current shortage of pressure treated lumber.”

The EDGEXMETAL clips are compatible with top manufacturers’ deck boards, including Fortress Evolution and Trex Elevations, on 14-18GA metal framing. They are available in 90-count and 450-count pails, and include T15 driver bits and the Never-Miss Guide.

To install, CAMO recommends laying rows of boards and clips down, locking them in place with CAMO LEVER board bending and locking tools, and then fastening while standing up with a CAMO DRIVE tool plus drill. The clips may also be installed by hand with a drill. camofasteners.com
