Summer is here, and demand is higher than ever for inviting outdoor spaces in new homes—both as retreats for residents and as safe gathering spaces for family and friends. Here are just a few of the newest options available in decking, pavers, decorative features, and outdoor kitchen structures:

Emser Tile

Ahead of the summer season, Emser Tile has introduced new tile collections designed for use in outdoor living environments, as well as expanded its existing outdoor tile options. New pool-rated offerings include Mizu glazed ceramic tile, H20 glass mosaic, Kaze glazed ceramic tile, and Splash glass mosaic, each available in a variety of colors. Also available for outdoor use is the Xtra glazed porcelain tile, designed to imitate the look and feel of wood, concrete, or stone. At an 8 on the MoHs hardness scale, it is harder and more durable than natural stone, as well as freeze-thaw stable.

The Trex Outdoor Fire & Water Collection covers a wide range of outdoor living accessories, including fire pots, fire tables, water bowls and spillways, and planters in a variety of sizes and finishes. All fixtures are made with heavy-grade copper and stainless steel. The spillway bowls and gas-burning fire pots and tables offer a choice of polished glass or natural lava rock fillers. Propane conversion kits are also available.

The Venice stainless steel cabinet door style features a flat frame with a 0.75-inch reveal and solid center. This design allows for either a single powder-coated finish or a dual-tone combination. The cabinets are resistant to corrosion and weather exposure across all climates, and feature magnetic closures, rain gaskets, and adjustable shelf heights. The style is available for outdoor kitchen cabinets in the Danver, Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens, and Trex Outdoor Kitchens brands.

TimberTech AZEK

TimberTech AZEK’s Landmark polymer decking collection takes its inspiration from interior flooring design trends and the look of reclaimed wood. The boards offer a natural woodgrain texture with crosscut details, and each color option blends several colors to create highlights and lowlights in the board. The collection is made from 100% synthetic material, including approximately 50% recycled materials, and is moisture-, fade-, scratch-, and stain-resistant.

Trailhead is a low-maintenance, entry-level offering with an expected average retail price in the range of $2 per lineal foot. The boards are composed of a highly compressed core under a scratch-resistant polyethylene cap on three sides, and offer a “rugged” appearance in three lightly streaked colors with natural flat-grain embossing. The boards are available in 12-, 16-, and 20-foot solid- and grooved-edge profiles, and measure 7/8 inches thick by 5 ½ inches wide.

MoistureShield’s Meridian capped wood-plastic composite decking is designed to offer a natural wood look that requires little upkeep or maintenance. The boards are made with the manufacturer’s Solid Core manufacturing process, designed to protect against moisture penetration, warping, rotting, and insect damage, making them suitable for installation in the ground, on the ground, or underwater. They are available in three colors, square-edge and grooved profiles, and 12-, 16-, and 20-foot lengths.

The EdgeXMetal Clip is designed to fasten any grooved deck boards directly to metal substructures. The one-pass fasteners use the same technology as the EdgeX clips for wood framing, with the screw as a key difference; the metal clip uses a drill point screw that engages in less than two seconds, while the EdgeX uses a self-tapping screw. The clips are compatible with top manufacturers’ deck boards, including Fortress Evolution and Trex Elevations, on 14-18GA metal framing.

The Promenade decking series marks a premium addition to Fiberon’s decking catalog, joining the existing Paramount PVC collection. The boards, available in square-edge or grooved profiles, feature four-sided capping, streaking on the underside, and a durable, weather-resistant surface coating. A synthetic solid core construction provides protection against cracks, splinters, and mold penetration. The Promenade line is available in six multitone color profiles, including shades of gray and warm brown tones.

The Pro Plug Hidden Fastening System is designed to enable installers and DIYers to cover visible screw heads and holes on face-fastened deck boards. Its components include an epoxy-coated carbon steel or stainless steel screws, a PVC/composite driver tool that attaches to a standard drill/driver, and plugs made to match Envision’s decking material. The driver tool attachment is designed to drive screws to the correct depth without overdriving or stripping. It is compatible with all of Envision’s square edge composite deck board profiles and colors, and may also be used in combination with Envision’s EverClip Hidden Fastener.

ICP Building Solutions Group

The STAIN-PROOF Paver Enhancing Sealer is a silicone solution formulated to protect and enhance the natural color of man-made surfaces, including concrete pavers, cement tiles, terrazzo floors, and concrete surfaces. The seal is oil- and water-repellent, and fully penetrates the pores of the surface to which it is applied to create a repellent barrier. It does not create a sheen or shine, and does not affect a tile’s slip rate as tested under ANSI 137.1.
