Legrand has introduced a new mounting plate accessory and network interface module for its On-Q plastic structured wiring enclosure system. The mounting plate allows a number of third-party devices to be mounted into the enclosure, while the network interface provides strong data throughput through a connection to an existing Wi-Fi router or wired networking throughout the home.
According to Legrand, the stay-at-home orders put in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic have demonstrated the need for strong home network connections for buyers – providing an opportunity for builders to add value to their new homes.
"Our mounting plates and network interface modules allow home builders to take full advantage of our new On-Q plastic structured wiring enclosures," sats Nathan Bartholomew, vice president and general manager for Legrand | AV, On-Q, SANUS, and AV Retail. "Simple to install, the AC1050 offers the flexibility to accommodate all the components that drive low-voltage services and systems throughout the home, while the AC106A6 provides a reliable, wired network connection for high-speed devices. The result is a rock-solid backbone for the connected experience today's home buyers are looking for."
The AC1050 mounting plate is made from Wi-Fi transparent ABS plastic, and may be installed to fit any configuration. An inch and a half of elevation supports mounting devices on both sides of the plate, and its hole pattern design allows for connections from third-party components. The plate includes three feet of hook and loop VELCRO straps to secure wired or wireless devices.
The AC106A6 network interface module supports Cat 6a cable connections and terminates up to six data lines for high speed device connections. It mounts seamlessly into On-Q plastic enclosures, and provides access to front-mounted 110-IDC terminals and RJ45 connectors. It is UL-listed, and its reinforced plastic brackets are designed to support punch-down terminations and maintain Wi-Fi transparency. legrand.us
