An ultra-fast USB outlet is the newest addition to Legrand’s adorne series, following the launch of the manufacturer’s ultra-fast USB outlets in the radiant series. The new in-wall USB charging station is designed to provide fast, easy tech charging coordinated with the rest of the room’s design.
With 6 amps of power, the adorne Ultra-Fast is able to charge smartphones and tablets up to 40% faster than standard, according to the manufacturer. The outlet supports a choice of USB Type-C and Type-A connections.
“Interest in USB Type-C charging has definitely increased recently, especially as it’s been adopted by top brands in their latest models of smartphones and tablets. Expanding our options to provide adapter-free charging for the newest devices on the market, as well as for those that might be coming next, was an obvious way to ensure we’re meeting our customers’ needs,” says Adam Hayes, senior product manager-UX at Legrand. “Adding this versatility, while also offering a significantly quicker charge, means these products can answer the demand for fast, reliable charging—a demand coming from consumers, contractors, and designers alike—while helping users easily future-proof their homes for tomorrow’s technology.”
According to the manufacturer, installers can replace a standard outfit with the adorne outlet in as little as 15 minutes. The ultra-fast outlets coordinate with a range of wall plates, available in 40 colors and finishes.
