Higher end performance features combine with professional-style design in KitchenAid’s six new gas cooktops, with functionality and craftsmanship upgrades designed to catch the eye of cooking enthusiasts, the company says.
The cooktops include burners ranging from 5K to 20K BTUs, along with all-purpose Multiflame or Professional Dual Ring burners (depending on the model) that allow users to go from high to low heat without changing burners. The incorporation of a diffuser plate into an Even-Heat Simmer Burner provides more precision of the flame at the lowest heat.
New multi-finish knobs use a barrel design to make dialing more exact, and some models incorporate LED back lighting to indicate when the cooktop is turned on. The cooktops come in a satin texture with Cookshield permanent finish, which protects the surfaces from stains, according to KitchenAid.
Two sizes, 30” and 36”, are offered. All models feature full-width cast iron grates, electronic ignition and LP conversion kits. Two models come with a removable non-stick griddle.
The units are now available, with MSRP ranging from $1,099 to $1,899.
