Bosch’s newly-introduced X-Lock power grinder interface incorporates a streamlined grinder wheel change process that performs up to three times faster than conventional interfaces, according to the manufacturer.

When used with the X-Lock mount, Bosch’s X-Lock metal-cutting and grinding abrasive wheels eject with a lever pull and snap in place to reconnect, without the need for a spanner wrench or flange nuts.

“X-Lock promises to bring another level of performance and ease of use for trade professionals who rely on a grinder to get the job done each day,” says Anastasia Llamas, channel/product manager for Bosch Power Tools. “Of all the interfaces that Bosch has created (e.g. SDS, jigsaw, oscillating), the angle grinder interface has proven to be one of the most intricate. But the innovative design of Bosch X-Lock addresses the need for functionality greater functionality in a go-to jobsite tool.”

Most of the X-Lock grinder accessories are backwards-compatible with standard 7/8-inch grinder mounts, along with specialized X-Lock mounts on newer models. X-Lock grinder wheel options will include bonded discs, flap discs, wire wheels, and diamond blades.
