Walker Zanger has partnered with interior designer Michael Berman to expand the partnership’s Studio Moderne Stone tile collection with four new profiles in a total of ten style, color and material variations.
The new profiles include “Claremont”, a hexagonal bungalow tile, “Monarch”, an octagon-and-square design inspired by European chateaux, and “Parliament”, a series of interlocking, elongated rhomboids. According to Berman, the new profiles reflect the collection’s homage to American modernism, with Art Deco and Hollywood Regency among its main stylistic influences.
“It’s the dialogue between past and present that inspires my new designs for Walker Zanger. I love the versatility the new collection offers designers, from feature walls to kitchens and baths to bar fronts and beyond,” says Berman. “This fresh take on dimensional marble tiles and mid-scale mosaics complement the graphic silhouettes in the original Studio Moderne Stone collection.”
At the same time, the collection’s soft white, blue, and gray color palette offers continuity with contemporary interiors. "Incorporating crisp Calacata white marble, serene steel gray limestone and a gorgeous new Celeste blue marble, my new designs recall the elegance and simplicity that are synonymous with Art Deco and Modernist forms,” Berman says.
The full Studio Moderne Stone collection is one of three in Walker Zanger’s new Curated Elegance collection, which highlights the “grandeur” of natural stone tile.
“Walker Zanger is proud to be working with Michael Berman once again to collaborate on a new iteration of our popular Studio Moderne Stone collection, developing beautiful natural stone mosaics in tactile designs,” says Erika Egede-Nissen, Walker Zanger Director of Marketing.
