Legrand has introduced a new series of smart switches and outlets to its radiant collection, which allow users to control any associated light fixtures through the Legrand Smart Lights app, through voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Home, or with any existing smart home system through Samsung’s ARTIK cloud services.
The Legrand Smart Lights app allows homeowners to control lamps, small appliances and whole-home lighting from anywhere in the world, as well as schedule lighting and appliances to go on and off automatically at certain times, group lights around the same function, and create scenes to match a certain routine.
“Smart lighting represents a move to simplify daily life for all of us and more importantly, puts comfort and safety at the forefront,” says Gerald Connolly, Vice President and General Manager of Pass and Seymour for Legrand. “Voice control has quickly become the preferred method of control for homeowners. With the capability of connecting smart devices from other manufacturers, homeowners simply speak commands and enable activation of doors, thermostats and lighting for an entire smart home experience.”
Smart Lighting from the radiant Collection is the first series of lighting devices to be certified by the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) according to its industry standard for connected devices. It is designed to work seamlessly with other OCF-certified devices, regardless of brand or operating services.
The devices are available as plug-in units or as full switch boxes, and the dimmers’ Tru-Universal dimming technology is compatible with any dimmable bulbs.
