OLFA has expanded its existing lineup of fiberglass utility knives with a new series, the OLFA MXP-L and MXP-AL, die-cast from a single piece of aluminum.
According to the manufacturer, the MXP-L and MXP-AL’s uniform aluminum construction allows for user comfort, greater precision, and rugged durability.
“The aluminum die-cast bodies of the MXP-L and MXP-AL bring a new level of lightweight durability to our lineup,” says Cassie Donnelly, OLFA brand manager. “The oversized grip fits comfortably in your hand and the rubber wrap-around grip helps wick moisture away from the handle and maintain control of the knife. Plus, their all-metal design makes them more durable than ever before.”
The MXP-L features a rotary ratchet locking mechanism for precise control over the blade’s length, while the MXP-AL has an ultra-slim auto-locking mechanism that holds the blade at a pre-set position. Both models include tethering holes at the end of the tool, as well as anti-slip hand grips.
The MXP-L and MXP-AL use OLFA’s Ultra-Sharp Black Premium blades, which are double-honed to be 25% sharper than a standard silver blade. Each individual blade includes eight snap-off edges, which snap off by hand to produce new, sharpened edges in an instant, and full blade changes require no additional tools.
