LP Building Products has added a 1-1/8-inch thick panel to its lineup of LP Legacy subflooring options. This addition allows LP Legacy to meet the needs of contractors in markets that prefer thicker sub-flooring panels, including parts of the South and Northeast.
The new panels offer the same properties as the original LP Legacy. The subfloor panels are made from wood fibers coated with waterproof resins that incorporate Gorilla Glue Technology, which provides moisture resistance and works to prevent edge swell. The board is APA rated with the highest bending stiffness, and requires no sanding during installation.
The high-density board is recommended for use under hardwood floors and tile, and its strength, density, and stiffness provides better fastener holding and reduces the likelihood of nail pops, under the manufacturer.
“Since the introduction of LP Legacy a year ago, we’ve seen tremendous, growing demand around the country,” says Marcelle Lacy, LP’s Sr. Corporate Brand Manager – OSB/EWP. “Adding a 1-1/8" panel to our lineup ensures new and existing customers who prefer the thicker size can also enjoy the superior performance that LP Legacy brings no matter the jobsite conditions.”
