Cosentino has introduced a new 3cm (30mm) thickness option for the ultra-compact Dekton by Cosentino surfacing, expanding the surfacing collection’s design and application options. According to the manufacturer, these thicker surfaces allow for more design possibilities at the edges of countertops, as well as a strong design aesthetic.
“We are thrilled to add the 3cm thickness to our Dekton offerings, and to be the first in the ultracompact surface category to do so,” says Massimo Ballucchi, marketing director of Cosentino North America. “We’re so looking forward to seeing Dekton 3cm specified in both residential and commercial projects, and we are proud to be able to offer this additional option to architects and designers.”
The Dekton composite is made from a blend of glass, quartz and porcelain, which provides resistance against scratches, stains, impact and UV radiation, according to Cosentino. This durability allows it to be used in flooring, cladding, worktop and stairway applications, as well as outdoor surfaces.
Dekton surfacing is also available in 8mm, 12mm, and 20mm thicknesses. The 3cm thickness is currently available in seven of Dekton’s colors – Halo/Zenith, Sirocco, Danae, Domoos, Sirius, Triulium and Radium – with additional Dekton color options coming soon.
