The new Bosch 80% AFUE Gas Furnace, BGS80 Series is the first-ever non-condensing gas furnace in Bosch Thermotechnology’s residential heating and cooling lineup. The system is designed to deliver up to 80% AFUE heating efficiency, or convert up to 80% of the fuel it consumes into heat for the home, providing lower energy bills for homeowners.
The cabinet’s compact, 33.75-inch height and four-way multipoise design allows contractors to fit the furnace in tight places, including basements and crawl spaces. Other contractor conveniences include a natural-gas-to-LP fuel conversion kits, left and right hand valves for gas and electric powers, and removable bottom closure panel and an LED Fault Code display on the control board.
“Bosch continuously seeks ways to enhance our product portfolio,” says Goncalo Costa, director of air conditioning regional business unit, North America at Bosch Thermotechnology. “Our customers have been asking for Bosch to design a non-condensing gas furnace for their homes, and contractors wanted to be able to offer them one. This new offering fills those gaps, and represents another step in Bosch’s product portfolio journey.”
The BGS80 Series furnace may be integrated with Bosch’s IDS Outdoor Units (BOVA models) and Cased Coils (BMAC models), which can provide an alternate fuel source for the unit.
