Bosch has added two new power tools to its 12-volt cordless lineup, the Bosch GKF12V-25 12V Max Palm Edge Router and Bosch GHO12V-08 12V Max Planer, for use in woodworking and other edge finishing applications.
The Palm Edge Router is designed for comfort, balance, and maneuverability, and weighs only 2.2 pounds as a bare tool. Its 12-volt brushless motor offers 13,000 rpm power, maintains speed under load, and provides up to 23 feet of round-over capacity per battery amp hour. Its restart protection prevents accidental startup during battery changes, and a finger barrier prevents user contact with the bit.
“The Bosch GKF12V-25 Palm Edge Router is all about user convenience and routing precision,” says Charlie Chiappetta, product manager of 12-volt tools at Bosch Power Tools. “This is a handy tool that’s always at the ready. It’s light, it’s maneuverable and it delivers great results. For quick, professional edge routing and trimming, there’s no better tool available.”
The tool features fine adjustments of 0.04 in. per revolution of the adjustment dial. The bare tool is packaged with a ¼-inch self-releasing collet chuck and forged collet chuck wrench.
The Planer is also designed for compact size and easy operation at 3.3 pounds without its battery. It offers 2.2 inches of planning width, a single-pass planning depth of up to 0.08 inches, and up to 33 feet of one-inch hardwood per amp hour. The tool is capable of making rabbet cuts of up to 0.7 inches.
The brushless motor operates at up to 14,500 rpm, and monitors and maintains speed under load. The bare tool includes two 2.2-inch Bosch Woodrazor micrograin carbide planer blades, a blade wrench, a shavings diverter, a shavings bag and a vacuum hose adapter.
