Although in dire need of refurbishing, the mahogany paneling, doors and cabinets remained otherwise relatively unscathed. The integrally colored stucco ceiling was patched and sand-finished.

Pink-painted concrete walls were returned to their original sand color, and the concrete forecourt was refurbished.

The architects used almond shells to remove paint from the fireplace interior, restoring it to its original natural look, and added a caldron that had never been built.
