As winter approaches, the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has compiled a list of rebate and incentive programs available from propane-powered heating appliance manufacturers, organizations, and public agencies for builders and homeowners alike.

For homeowners, Rinnai’s “2018 Propane-Fired Products Promotion” provides $50 to $100 rebates on propane-powered systems purchased through the end of the year. These rebates apply to propane tankless water heaters, wall furnaces, condensing boilers and hybrid water heating systems, and must be claimed by January 15th.

The Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency provides a list of tax credits, rebates, grants and other incentives available at the state or local level for propane-powered appliance purchases. A series of safe installation rebates are also available, and may apply to propane appliances.

The Propane Council also offers incentives for builders and remodelers’ whole-home projects through its Propane Construction Incentive Program. Installers who incorporate three or more qualifying propane applications into their projects in 2018 are eligible for an incentive between $500 and $1,500 per home.

“There is an abundance of incentives available for propane water- and space-heating appliances, which keep customers happy for longer because they provide superior comfort, are more efficient, and perform better than other energy appliances,” says Jesse Marcus, PERC director of residential and commercial business development. “While some incentives are only offered to homeowners – and don’t directly benefit the builder or remodeler – knowing what is available for their customers is critical to being an expert partner who can help them get the full savings benefit available. Other incentives directly benefit the builder or remodeler to help them maximize the return on each installation.”
