Housing costs rose nationwide and in the vast majority of Congressional districts last year, according to Zillow Research. Using data from the Zillow Home Value Index and the Zillow Rent Index, the analysis found that median values rose last year in 421 out of 426 Congressional districts analyzed, or 99%, while median rents increased in 295 of 434 districts analyzed, or 68%. The chart incorporates the latest data from Zillow’s 2018 indices as well as median home values and rents from the last five years.
