BUILDER's premier list of the top 100 builders in the country, the BUILDER 100, is set to be released next week. In light of that, we are counting down each day with some facts and figures gleaned from the data.
As we reported yesterday, the nation's top 100 builders saw a 25 percent increase in gross revenue in 2013 compared to the year before. These profits were fueled by a nearly as large increase in closings.
According to data from the about-to-be-released Builder 100 list, the top 100 builders in the country completed 205,690 closings in 2013, a 23 percent increase from 2012's 167,658. In fact, the minimum barrier to entry into the 2013 top 100 ranking was 406 homes, a 27 percent increase versus the minimum number of 2012 units.
