PulteGroup has cleared a significant hurdle in its plan to develop a large brownfield site in Michigan. Dailytribune.com reports:

The Oakland County Board of Commissioners has approved a brownfield redevelopment plan for a 26-acre property in Novi.

Pulte Homes will take ownership of the property, located at 26700 Wixom Road, next year and redevelop into a subdivision by 2022. The Villas at Stonebrook will feature 88 ranch-style homes for those 55 years of age or older. The project will cost $27 million and create 50 construction jobs.

Before construction can begin, the property must be cleaned of any environmental contaminants as it’s the former home of Whitesell Formed Components, a manufacturer of piercing, clinching, and riveting fasteners for the automotive market.
