Young home buyers are flocking to suburbs in Tennessee that are designed to offer an urban setting. The Tennessean reports:
Everyone knows that members of the millennial generation want to live in affordably priced homes with trendy floor plans in hip urban neighborhoods. Now, growing numbers of young, first-time home buyers are finding what they’re looking for in suburban cities like Gallatin and Hendersonville.
They are discovering the advantages of living in “urban light” neighborhoods, said Randy Chastain, vice president of Parkside Builders. The company has new developments in Sumner County that appeal to millennials as well as to downsizers, who are often looking for the same amenities.
“More and more first-time buyers, including millennials, prefer to live in ‘urban-light’ areas like Sumner County that are more affordable than the urban core but still allow them to experience the energy and excitement of the city,” said Chastain.
