Lennar Corp.'s (NYSE:LEN) CalAtlantic Homes is the largest home builder in the Indianapolis region, and it is seeking to get a bit bigger. The Indianapolis Business Journal reports:

CalAtlantic Homes of Indiana has filed plans to build 144 single-family homes and 30 townhouses in Noblesville.

The developer is seeking to build the subdivision on 63 acres north of 171st Street and east of Mill Creek Road and has requested the city rezone the site from the R1 residential and Industrial light zoning designations to a planned development district that would allow moderate- to high-density housing. The property is about a half-mile south of State Road 32 and east of Hazel Dell Road.

The proposal will be introduced at a Noblesville City Council meeting Tuesday before it’s passed on to the plan commission for further review.

The subdivision would be called Midland Overlook. It would be built near the Willow Lakes and Cherry Tree Meadows communities. A business park occupies property to the north.
