KB Home (NYSE: KBH) on Wednesday announced its expansion into the Seattle market, upping its national reach to 36 markets in eight states.
KB has completed land acquisitions in Pierce and King Counties, where it plans to launch its first new-home communities in the Seattle market.
The communities and floor plans will be designed to target first-time and first move-up buyers to align with KB Home’s core business strategy.
KB Home named Washington native, Ryan Kemp, president of the Seattle division, where he is overseeing the company’s home building operations throughout the region, from land acquisition and construction to sales and customer service. He will report to Brian Kunec, regional general manager of KB Home’s Las Vegas and Seattle divisions.
“Ryan’s extensive experience and knowledge of the Seattle housing market makes it easy for us to start building immediately and meeting the housing needs of that market,” said Kunec. “We see strong potential in the Seattle area and our customer-centric business model, which focuses on personalization, stands out from other production home builders.”
Kemp brings more than a decade of experience in the Seattle home building market, including leadership roles in local land acquisition and business operations. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Washington State University.
