Highland Homes announced Wednesday that its owners and siblings Rod Sanders and Jean Ann Brock are developing part of their 2,400-acre Aubrey, Texas property into a new residential community, Sandbrock Ranch.
Approximately 800 acres will be developed, encompassing 2,600 homes with pricing expected to start in the mid $200,000s. Infrastructure construction has started in Sandbrock Ranch, with roads paved and the entry monument started. Model home park construction is underway and model homes are expected to begin opening in June.
“We purchased this land in 2003 as a place to enjoy our love of horses,” Brock said. “Now, we are sharing it with north Texas families who will find it a well-located, peaceful oasis as development in the Dallas area continues to surge northward.”
Amenities planned for Sandbrock Ranch include the Carriage House, the community’s social gathering place; a swimming pool and splash pad; a fitness room; two stocked lakes; walk-and-bike paths; an event lawn; recreational fields; playscapes; and an outdoor amphitheater. Students will attend schools in the Denton Independent School District, with land set aside in the community for an on-site elementary school.
“We hope our residents will experience meaningful connections with the land and with each other as they experience life in Sandbrock Ranch,” Brock said.
Brock and Sanders launched Highland Homes in 1985, and today build more than 2,800 homes annually in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Highland Homes is the state’s largest private builder and is the sixth largest in the United States.
