Houstonia Magazine’s Abby Ledoux reports a futuristic smart home in Houston sold for $9.5 million this week and became the city’s most expensive home sale since May 2016. The modern, custom build has eight bedrooms, eight full and five half baths, an accompanying two-story casita, and fitness pavilion. Check out more details about the monstrous house and property below.
There are all the other trappings of a super-luxury home, too, like a chef’s kitchen, glass-walled wine room, six-car garage, and home theatre. Want a fireplace? Have three.
Perhaps most impressively, this is a bona fide smart home—fully equipped with a “Crestron system” that literally runs everything, from lighting to temperature to full audio and video surveillance.
Built in 2017, the property was designed to feel like “a boutique hotel managed by a world-class hospitality name brand,” the listing declares.
And though it represents the priciest home sale in a hot minute, it’s far from the most expensive asking price—for that, we turn to a neoclassical chateau ($30 million) and a River Oaks estate (literally) built for a prince ($20 million). And, if you missed your chance to jump at the 17,000-square-foot Rivercrest abode, both are still for sale.
