D.R. Horton (NYSE:DHI) has introduced its Express line of more affordable homes to a new community in Southwest Florida. The News-Press reports:
It’s tough to find a new home in a gated community in Southwest Florida for under $200,000. So that’s the niche that D.R. Horton is aiming for.
The company scours Lee County looking for the small plots of land nestled between already developed areas and buys the property to create small modest developments. They have been doing this for years in Cape Coral and have now expanded that plan to Lehigh Acres.
D.R. Horton just completed two models in the Town Lakes community in Lehigh Acres and hopes to lure buyers in with its low prices.
"There are currently six move-in ready homes in Town Lakes, with prices starting at $179,410,” stated Jonathon Pentecost, division president of D.R. Horton Realty Inc. “D.R. Horton is committed to bringing homeownership within reach for many Southwest Florida residents by providing moderately priced, quality built homes. We have experienced continued success with our Express Homes brand since introducing the line of homes in 2014, and we made the decision to expand into Lehigh Acres to meet Southwest Florida’s need for homes at an attractive value.”
