Metro Development Group has announced the inclusion of a private, gated active-adult section for its newest lagoon community, Southshore Bay, which will add 2,800 new homes and a 5.5-acre Crystal Lagoons amenity across 1,000 acres in Tampa, Fla.
Lennar’s Medley brand will be the sole builder in Southshore Bay’s active adult section. New single-family model homes are currently open on the community site, with completed villa models ready to tour in November. The gated section will include its own separate amenity package, with a clubhouse, resort pool, pickleball courts, trails, golf cart paths, and a dog park.
D.R. Horton and Holiday are building homes in the rest of the community, which will be family-oriented Both builders have model homes available for tours, and resident move-ins have already begun.
“Aside from the Lagoon, the dual focus on both active adult and family living truly sets Southshore Bay apart from other communities, giving it appeal to buyers at all stages of their lives,” says Metro President Greg Singleton. “As the demand for multigenerational living options continues to grow, we have created a unique solution for all homebuyers: a neighborhood for all families and age groups, coupled with an incredible option for an older demographic at a price-point that is lower than the competition.”
Southshore Bay’s Crystal Lagoons amenity is set to open in 2020. It will be the second of nine planned Metro Lagoons by Crystal Lagoons in Metro communities, following Epperson’s grand opening last summer in Winter Haven, Fla. Epperson’s Crystal Lagoons amenity was the first of its kind to open in the U.S. Brightwater in North Ft. Myers and Mirada in Pasco County will be the next communities built with Metro Lagoons.
