McBride Homes, the largest home builder in the St. Louis region, and J.H. Berra Construction Co., a major regional developer, have partnered to form a new independent joint venture. The new company, Elite Development Services, will develop home sites for McBride Homes, sell the sites to McBride when they are complete, and provide construction management services for smaller builders in the area.
McBride Homes CEO and Chairman John Eillerman expects the operation to allow McBride to increase its home starts to approximately 1,000 per year, up from 854 in 2017 and 742 in 2016. He is one of the co-chairs of the new venture, along with J.H. Berra’s president and CEO, John Berra Jr.
“There is somewhat of a shortage for new homes, but that’s a good thing because it means the demand is there,” Eilermann said. “The inventory of new homes coming on the market isn’t staying on the market long.” Eilermann said the Elite company should also help McBride develop larger communities in the future.
