In the first solar-powered hometown in America, Pulte Homes has plans to expand its new home offerings with Verde at Babcock Ranch, located north of Fort Myers, Florida. Expected to open for sales mid-2023, the neighborhood is in the development’s next phase, which will include green spaces, parks, trails, and additional new neighborhoods. The Verde homes will model Pulte’s commitment to energy efficiency, green building standards, and healthier homes. Land development and the construction of model homes is expected to begin later this year.
“Verde was created for value-focused home buyers and will offer a more simplified and streamlined buying process,” says Josh Graeve, president of PulteGroup’s Southwest Florida division. “Home buyers will appreciate the standard new-home features coupled with a variety of color and design choices to personalize their home. With Verde, we’re also focused on providing families with the ability to secure a new home in a shorter time frame with a selection of quick move-in homes that will be available.”

The 109-acre neighborhood will offer 399 single-family homes with a choice of two homesite sizes. Residents will have access to a private neighborhood pool and an adjacent planned pedestrian-friendly village center and community greenway. Verde is also bordered by Curry Creek Preserve and is near Babcock Neighborhood School, a project-based public charter school for kindergarten to eighth-grade students, and Babcock High School, opening for the 2022-23 academic year.
“Many families have chosen to live in Babcock Ranch because of its unique mix of outdoor recreation activities, scenic views of preserves and lakes, and proximity to numerous activities in and around the community,” says Graeve. “Its appeal crosses generations and fits a variety of lifestyle preferences with a vibrant live, work, play atmosphere. Pulte looks forward to expanding new-home options for families in Babcock Ranch as the town develops to the east in its newest phase.”
Within Babcock Ranch, Verde residents will have access to Lee Healthy Life Center in Founder’s Square with a medical clinic, a full-time primary care practice, rehabilitation services, and a health club. To promote additional wellness and connection to nature, Babcock Ranch is planned for 50 miles of hiking, biking, and walking trails that connect green spaces and parks and feature lakes, wetlands, boardwalks, and nature preserves.

A variety of social, recreational, shopping, and dining amenities are also available for residents. In addition to Verde, Pulte Homes is also the exclusive builder in the Parkside, Edgewater, Edgewater Shores, and Northridge neighborhoods in Babcock Ranch.
